Police are trying to determine who grew marijuana plants on town land in Brooklyn.

State police are trying to figure out who grew 40 marijuana plants on town property in Brooklyn.

The 3-foot-tall plants were found in a vacant lot off Route 6.

They were enclosed in a low fence, tied to stakes and appeared to be well cared for, according to state police.

The area where the plants were found is surrounded by heavy overgrowth, according to police.

Police seized the plants.
