Taftville Memorial Day Ceremony
May 29 at 10 a.m.
Name reading to honor veterans. The 2017 Honored Veteran is Joseph Carrigan. Carrigan, one of the first Americans to cross the Rhine River, died at Westover AFB of a rare blood disease contracted in Germany.

St. Paul’s Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast
May 29, starts at 7 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Hosted by St. Paul’s, this breakfast is served ahead of the historic Memorial Day Parade. All servicemen and servicewomen receive breakfast at no charge, and proceeds from everyone else go to outreach. More info here.

Meriden Memorial Mile

Mystic

Mystic Seaport’s Salute to Summer
May 27 & 28 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Enjoy the kickoff of summer with outdoor activities at Mystic Seaport, including 19th-century lawn games; 19th-century carnival games; tug-of-war; harpoon throwing; relay races; and visitor whaleboat rowing. Full details here. 

Plymouth

Walking Tour of Burying Ground and the Henry Terry House
May 28, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
After the Memorial Day parade concludes on the Plymouth Green, take a fascinating tour of the Burying Ground, created in 1747, where 38 soldiers from the Revolutionary War are buried. More info here.
