Men Accused of Stealing Cash Register from Restaurant

Two Boston men have been arrested in Ledyard, accused of stealing a cash register from a local restaurant on Sunday morning.

Police received a report just after 6 a.m. on Sunday, reporting that a cash register was stolen from the restaurant at the Two Trees Hotel on Indiantown Road in Ledyard.

Investigators determined that two men went into the restaurant at 4:30 a.m., removed the cash register, placed it in the trunk of a vehicle in the parking lot and took a shuttle bus to the Foxwoods casino, police said.

The men were arrested a short time later when they returned to the vehicle, police said.

Police identified the suspects as Sean Coyne, 21, of Boston, Massachusetts, and Joseph Haugh, 21, of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, a section of Boston.

Both men were charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree larceny.

They will appear at GA 10 New London on April 29.
