No Attempted Abduction in Middletown: Cops

Middletown police are looking for two men who tried to lure a girl.

What police originally said what a report of two men trying to lure a girl into their vehicle, has proven to not be the case.
A person called Middletown police Wednesday to report her friend, who is an adult, was approached by two men who asked her if she wanted a ride. One of those men was known to be a registered sex offender, police said.
The men did not attempt to abduct the woman, according to police.
Officers did respond to the area of Main Street and Liberty Street to look for the vehicle. Police are encouraging the woman who was approached to call them to confirm details of the incident.
