Police Investigate Stabbing in Meriden

Police are investigating a stabbing at a party in Meriden on Saturday night.

A 21-year-old man was stabbed three times outside Apt. #1 at 35 Hillside Ave., according to police.

The victim was at a party in the apartment when his cousin got into an altercation with an man, who left the apartment and later returned with two other men, police said.

When the victim and his cousin, who is a juvenile, went outside, a fight broke out and the three men jumped the victim and his cousin near the corner of Grove and Cliff streets, police said.

The victim suffered lacerations on his arm, chest and wrist and was transported to Midstate Medical Center for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening, according to investigators. The victim’s cousin did not require medical treatment.

The attackers fled and are still on the run, police said.

Officers responded to the scene around 11:23 p.m. and did not locate a weapon.
