Coyote Causes Multicar Crash on Merritt Parkway

After a coyote wandered onto the highway, there was a multicar crash and a car fire.

Route 15 north was closed between exits 42 and 44 in Westport for about an hour after a coyote wandered onto the highway.
Police responded to a multicar crash and car fire on the Merritt Parkway around 7:30 a.m. and learned that one of the driver had hit a coyote, police said.
No one was hurt, police said.
The last Westport Fire unit left the scene at 8:28 a.m.
