Merritt Parkway South Reopens After Stuck Truck Is Moved

Police closed the Merritt Parkway Southbound near exit 44 in Fairfield to remove a truck that was stuck, but the highway has reopened.

The truck got stuck at the North Avenue overpass, near exit 42 in Westport, which was lowered because of ongoing construction, according to police.

State police said an overpass was recently lowered and no height sign was posted back on that  overpass.

They closed the highway two exits away, at exit 44, so they could back the truck up and get it off the parkway.
