Plow Driver Narrowly Escapes Before Train Hits Truck

A plow truck driver narrowly escaped what could have been a tragic situation when a Metro-North train hit the truck in Stamford just before 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Officials from the Stamford Fire Department said the plow truck had gotten stuck while trying to cross the train tracks on Riverbend Drive at 9:13 a.m.

The plow driver noticed a New Canaan branch training approaching and was able to get out of the truck quickly, officials said.

No one was injured and no passengers were on the train.

The train wasn't damaged and it has since arrived at Stamford Yard.
