Middletown Animal Control Needs Help Saving Sick Puppy

Middletown Animal Control is asking for donations to help cover the cost of treatment for a puppy who came to the facility in grave condition.

Four-month-old “Kira,” a Daschund mix, is slowly recovering from parvovirus, which can be deadly. Animal Control is nursing her back to health but needs help covering her veterinary bills, which have reached $1,400 and continue to climb, the agency posted on its Facebook page.

Since the pup’s owner couldn’t afford her medical expenses and had to give her up, Animal Control hopes to soon find Kira a new home.

She began eating solid food today and even chewed her IV, which means she’s getting better, the agency wrote.
