Middletown Elementary School Evacuated

    Moody Elementary School was evacuated after cracks were discovred Friday morning.

    Van Buren Moody School in Middletown was evacuated Friday morning and students were moved to Spencer School as crews investigate possible cracks.

    The elementary school is located at 300 Country Club Road.

    Several schools are closed on Friday in towns across the state as crews remove snow and ice from the roofs. 

    Middletown is one local community that has been affected by roof collapses.

    The entire top floor of 505 Main St. crumbled on Wednesday afternoon under the weight of snow and ice, Both directions of part of the road running through the center of town were closed for more than a day and a half and 14 buildings had been deemed unsafe as of Thursday night.
