A Middletown High School student was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car on Middletown High School property.

School had been dismissed for the day when the accident happened at 2:15 p.m. on school property at LaRosa Lane and Newfield Street, which is also Route 3.

The 15-year-old student was walking inbetween two school buses and walked into the path of the car, police said.  He suffered a broken leg.

The driver is the parent of another student, school officials said.

An ambulance transported the student to Hartford Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

A second student was not struck, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
