Police have identified the person killed in the crash as Moises Larriu, 50, of the Plantsville section of Southington.

Police said Ryan Scalise, 31, of Middletown, was driving south on Route 10, began to turn left onto the I-691eastbound entrance ramp and crossed directly in the path of Larriu’s motorcycle and a car driven by Lourdes Ortiz, 53, of Waterbury.

Scalise was placed under arrest, charged with manslaughter in the second degree, under the influence; interfering with an officer and turns, failure to grant right of way.

He has no criminal history, officials said, but there are a handful of driving infractions on his record.

He was arraigned at Meriden Superior Court this morning and the judge set bond at $25,000.

He has been ordered Scalise not to drive. He is due back in court in two weeks.
