For two years, Kellyn Snow’s father was overseas, serving in Afghanistan, then Kuwait.
The 14-year-old from Webster, Massachusetts, told her family she did not want to know exactly when her dad was coming home. She just wanted to be surprised.
By the look on her face in video that her friends provided to NBC Connecticut, Kellyn, 14, got her wish on Thursday.
Tears filled her eyes when her dad, Mike Snow, surprised her at Marianapolis Preparatory School in Thompson on Thursday.
Kellyn’s mother, Karen, said her husband returned to the United States about a week ago and she was not sure whether the secret would remain a secret, but Kellyn’s friends did not spoil the surprise.
When the moment of reunion arrived, Kellyn was surrounded by friends, including Rylee Hehir, Christina Doherty, and Madison Snyder, as well as faculty.
“Many students, and faculty all came to witness the touching moment,” Hehir said via e-mail. “This really is a true meaning of homecoming!”
