Police Find Body of Elderly Rocky Hill Man

Raymond Krawiec, 92, was reported missing Sunday.



    Raymond Krawiec survived the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.

    Police located the body Monday of an elderly man who had been reported missing in Rocky Hill on Sunday.

    Raymond Krawiec, 92, was last seen leaving the Lodge at Cold Spring, at 50 Cold Spring Road around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.  The Lodge is an independent senior living facility.

    Krawiec's body was discovered behind the Sysco warehouse at 100 Inwood Road Monday afternoon, according to police.  The location is about a mile away from where he was last seen.

    As many as 25 police officers and 30 firefighters helped search for Krawiec, police said.  They searched in backyards, wooded areas and handed out flyers with Krawiec's photo on them.

    Krawiec was one of the state's last few remaining Pearl Harbor survivors.
