Silver Alert Canceled for 67-Year-Old Wallingford Man

Police are searching for John McGran, 67, who reportedly walked away from his caregiver at Walmart on Monday afternoon. Police said McGran has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Police have canceled a Silver Alert for 67-year-old John McGran, who they say has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and walked away from his caregiver Monday afternoon.

McGran was found safe in Meriden, according to police.

Police said McGran took a trip to the Walmart at 844 North Colony Road with his caregiver on Monday and disappeared around 2 p.m., according to police.

The caregiver tried in vain to find him and contacted authorities.

McGran has gray hair and blue eyes, according to police. He stands about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 195 pounds.

He wearing a blue polo shirt, tan shorts and loafers when he went missing. Police said McGran also wears glasses.
