As a 700-pound moose got closer to the highway, he quickly met the business end of a tranquilizer dart.

The Department of Environmental Protection's sharpshooters made the decision after the 2-year-old male moose was seen approaching Interstate 84 in Middlebury.

This apparently the same moose spotted in Winstead, Thomaston and Watertown last week.  The DEP believes this may be the same moose seen in Waterbury on Tuesday.

The moose is getting a free ride to a "suitable location" in the Barkhamsted area, reports the DEP.
