Police Identify Moped Driver from Fatal Milford Crash

Milford firefighters responded to the scene of a moped crash.

Police have identified Christopher Corvino, 53, as the rider who died after losing control of his motorized scooter at the intersection of Bridgeport Avenue and Rivercliff Drive in Milford on Tuesday.

Milford firefighters responded at 3:34 p.m. and found the male operator unresponsive on the ground without a helmet, according to a news release. The driver then went into cardiac arrest, so firefighters and American Medical Response personnel performed CPR.

Corvino was traveling eastbound on his blue motorized scooter on Bridgeport Avenue and struck a curb while taking a right turn onto Rivercliff Drive, police said. He was thrown from the scooter as a result.

Emergency responders rushed the individual to Bridgeport Hospital where he later was pronounced dead.

Milford police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Milford police ask anyone with information on the crash to contact Officer Localzo of the department's Traffic Division at 203-783-4792 or email wlocalzo@cimilford.ct.us.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
