On Saturday someone stole 10 tricycles from Coogan Pavilion. at Edgewood Park. in New Haven.

They were no ordinary cycles. These are customized trikes used in exercise programs for senior citizens, those with disabilities, wounded Veterans and camp kids.

As of Monday afternoon, police said, had recovered about half of the trikes.

Police had found a couple tricycles over the weekend and Lieutenant Lisa Dadio, the patrol shift commander, notified headquarters on Monday that two more were behind a business at County and Goffe streets.

"These trikes are not common. They have baskets and unique parking breaks on their right sides. They are quite large, each painted blue, red or mint, depending on their size and are easily identifiable," Martin Torresquintero, the Parks Department Outdoor Adventure Coordinator, said.

If you have information that could lead to further recoveries, call police or New Haven Parks Deputy Director Bill Dixon at (203)627-7744 or Martin Torresquintero Outdoor Adventure Coordinator at (203)627-4909.
