Mother and Children Displaced After Enfield Apartment Fire

A mother and five children were displaced by an early morning fire in Enfield Saturday, according to the Thompsonville Fire Department.

Fire crews said a fire started in the attic of 32/34 South Street around 4:30 a.m. The family was already out of the apartment when fire crews arrived. Firefighters also evacuated the occupants of the adjoining apartment.

No serious injuries were reported.

The fire marshal is on scene investigating the cause of the fire.

The Red Cross responded to help the family relocate to a hotel.
