Mother and Son Shoplifted in South Windsor: Cops

South Windsor Police have arrested a mother and son who are accused of stealing games and a vacuum from a Target store in South Windsor.

Police said Pamela Meyer, 57, of Agawam, Massachusetts, and her son, Douglas Walters, 29, of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, stole several video games, Lego sets and a Dyson vacuum from the store on Buckland Road on Saturday.

Store security officers saw the man and woman place the items in a shopping cart and try to leave without paying, so they approached the pair and Walters ran into the parking lot, police said.

Police were able to detain Meyer, who police said lied to officers about being involved in the shoplifting.

Police later found Walters several miles away and both were charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the fifth degree and interfering with an officer and later released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

They are scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 4.
