Police have identified the man who was killed after a crash involving a motor scooter and an SUV in Milford early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to a serious crash at the intersection of Bridgeport Avenue and Boston Post Road around midnight after a motor scooter and an SUV collided.
Police said the driver of the motor scooter, later identified as 22-year-old Walter Kiernan, of Milford, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the driver of the SUV stayed at the scene of the crash.
The driver and passengers in the SUV were not injured.

Route 1 was closed at the intersection of Boston Post Road in both directions while police investigated at the scene. The road has since reopened.
