Motorcyclist Killed in Meriden Crash

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Cook Avenue in Meriden on Saturday night.

Police identified the driver as Davaina Berube, 47, of Meriden.

Berube was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the southbound direction on Cook Avenue at 6:37 p.m. Saturday when she lost control of the vehicle, police said. She veered off the right side of the road beyond the New Hanover Avenue intersection and flipped over in an abandoned gas station parking lot.

Police closed Cook Avenue for about four hours while they investigated.

Hunter Ambulance personnel treated Berube at the crash site and drove her to MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She died at the hospital due to her injuries from the crash, police said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to the preliminary police investigation.
