Police have filed charges against a woman in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash in Enfield.
Police said Jill Michaud, 34, of Enfield, struck a motorcycle operated by Jerry Gatten, 56, of Enfield, on Route 5, near the Interstate 91 offramp from exit 49, around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Gatten was taken to Bay State Medical Center in Springfield with serious injuries, according to police, and died on Monday morning.
Michaud was not injured, officials said. She has been charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and following too closely.
The accident closed Route 5 at exit 49 while police investigated.
