Police Identify Man Killed in Clinton Moped Crash

Police have identified the man killed in a moped crash on Route 1/East Main Street in Clinton last night.

According to police, 40-year-old Kenneth Waite of East Main Street was driving his moped westbound in the wrong lane when he collided with an SUV driving in the opposite direction.

It happened on East Main Street around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Waite died at the hospital.

East Main Street was shut down in the area of Marine Avenue while authorities investigated and worked to clear the scene.

LifeStar was called to the crash but canceled.
