Moving Company Honors Sandy Hook Victims With Special Truck

A New Britain-based moving company wants to ensure that the victims of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary school will never be forgotten and has customized a tractor-trailer in their memory.

Siracusa Moving & Storage has transformed one of its 53-foot-long tractor-trailers with a moving memorial that will be seen by millions of people as it travels back and forth across the country.

The truck features a green and white ribbon that reads,  “Sandy Hook Elementary School- 12.14.2012”, accompanied by a Bible verse that states “Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.”

Dan Siracusa, the owner of the business, said the idea came to him a few days after the shooting as he was thinking about what he might do to help.

Twenty first graders and six staff members were killed inside the elementary school.

Reaction from people who have seen the truck on the road has been heartwarming, Siracusa said, and his drivers have been lining up to drive it.
