An apartment community in Middletown is dealing with string of tire thefts that occurred overnight on Tuesday.
In a letter to residents, the management team at Middletown Brooke apartments, located on Town Brooke Road, on said that several vehicles were found left on blocks with their tires removed.
According to Middletown Brooke, Middletown police have advised them that tire thefts are a widespread issue in both the city and throughout Connecticut this year.
Middletown Brooke management said that police are encouraging concerned residents to consider purchasing tire/wheel locks for their vehicles.
Additionally, management said that they have formally requested private police patrols through the community as often as possible.
Residents should immediately contact the police and their insurance carriers in the event any similar incident occurs and to report any suspicious activity.
