Narcotics Suspect Says He Was Shot on 4th of July: Police

New Haven police found drugs on a man who told them he was shot on the 4th of July, police said.

Officers from the New Haven Police Department's Shooting Task Force executed a search warrant at a Willis Street home at 4:30 p.m. on Monday after receiving a weapons complaint. Police found Laquan Knott, 21, of West Haven, at the home. He had drugs in his possession, police said.

An ambulance transported Knott to the hospital after police saw he had an unhealed wound. Knott told police someone shot him on the 4th of July.

It's unknown where Knott was shot.

The investigation is ongoing.
