Naugatuck Man Killed in Wallingford Crash

A 29-year-old from Naugatuck has died following a serious crash in Wallingford last night.

Brandon J. Genovese was transported to Midstate Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Genovese was driving a Subaru Legacy that collided with a Hyundai Sonata on Cook Hill Road. It happened at the intersection with Shelby Drive in Wallingford around 10:30 p.m. Friday, police said.

The driver and passenger of the Hyundai, 17-year-old Darin A. Quagliaro of Wallingford and 18-year-old Justin Cyr of Middletown, respectively, were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency responders worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
