Nearly 50 People Displaced by Hartford Fire

A fire ripped through an apartment building in Hartford.

Between 40 and 50 people are looking for a home after fire ripped through their apartment building in Hartford on Monday night.

The Hartford Fire Department responded to the Allen Place fire around 9 p.m. for reports of heavy smoke and discovered a heavy fire in the third floor.

Although crews were able to get the fire under control, it still left the building uninhabitable.

The American Red Cross will be assisting 16 adults and three children whose homes were destroyed. One of the 11 families needed assistance with baby items, according to the American Red Cross.

There were no injuries. There is still no word on a cause.
