Neighbors React After Vernon Man Kills Dad Then Himself in WY

A Vernon Community is coming to terms with shocking news after police say their neighbor brutally murdered two people in Wyoming.

Neighbors were shocked to learn that authorities identified Christopher Krumm, 25, of Vernon, as the man who killed his father and his father’s girlfriend, before fatally stabbing himself in Wyoming.

Krumm lived inside a home on Grove Street for months, next door to Kim Warren and her daughter.

“He’d say 'Hi' to the baby, but there was never anything deeper,” said Warren.

Police said Krumm killed his father and girlfriend on Friday morning in Wyoming. They said he stabbed Heidi Arnold to death before heading over to Casper College, where his father, James Krumm, was a computer science instructor.

According to authorities, Krumm walked in a classroom and shot his father in the head with a bow and arrow before stabbing himself.

“That’s devastating to think that somebody would actually do something like that to their parent,” said Michelle Towle.

Now, investigators are trying to find a motive for the attack.

The bomb squad was at the Grove Street building over the weekend, searching through Krumm’s room. It’s unclear what they retrieved.

Neighbors said Krumm generally kept to himself; but Matt DiPinto remembers a conversation he had with him a few weeks ago, where Krumm mentioned his father.

“He was saying his dad shouldn’t have kids, should have never had me,” said DiPinto.

While neighbors might never understand why this happened, they said Krumm’s empty room will always be an eerie reminder that it did.

“You never really expect one of your fellow residents to go out and kill a bunch of people,” said Warren.

Casper College is planning to hold a vigil for the victims next week.
