Another carrier will soon be available at Bradley International Airport!
Governor Dannel Malloy announced Frontier Airlines will be coming back to Bradley International Airport starting in March of next year.
Frontier Airlines will make non-stop flights starting on March 28, 2019, to Denver, Colorado, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
"Frontier Airlines is a welcomed addition to Bradley Airport. This announcement is proof of the airport's growing strength, and it underscores the importance of continuing efforts to utilize Bradley as a magnet for economic activity," Governor Malloy said.
Fares will be as low as $59 on their website.
"Frontier's new service to Denver will make air travel more accessible and affordable for everyone in the greater Hartford area. We look forward to making it easier for people to fly, and for people to fly more often," said Frontier Airlines Vice President of Network and Revenue Josh Flyr.
Frontier Airlines will become the ninth airline to fly in and out of Bradley International Airport.

The Connecticut Airport Authority continuously works to attract more airlines and routes to Bradley. During the announcement the executive director for the CAA and Governor Malloy pointed out that BDL was recently named as one of the best airports in the country.
But, just a month ago on November 5, 2018, the airport lost power for hours. Hundreds of passengers were stranded in the dark, unable to check-in for their flights or go through security.
“We do know there was an Eversource surge that morning that led to the shutdown of the power plant,” said Kevin Dillon, the executive director of the CAA. “It should have been a very easy restore. That can happen from time to time. But in this particular event, one of our turbines did not sync properly with the other turbines in the plant and that’s what we’re still investigating to see why that happened. That should have never happened.”
Since the outage, the airport authority hired a third party company to work with the plant operator and Eversource to find out why the outage happened. In the meantime, the airport is taking steps to prevent it from happening again.
“We’ve learned a couple of things in regard to it. For example we’re going to put in some additional emergency lighting onto that third power source so we can actually default to two other sources. As well as, we’re going to put the public address system onto that life safety system generator.”
