New Britain Avenue Reopens

New Britain Avenue was closed for more than hours between Charles Street in New Britain and Howard Street in Newington because of downed power lines.

The dump part of a dump truck brought down power lines around 6:30 a.m., bringing the wires across the road. The road reopened around 8:45 a.m.

Connecticut Light and Power was reporting 538 power outages in Newington as of 7 a.m., but power has since been restored.
