On Monday night, New Haven residents will get another chance to voice their opinion about a ban on alcohol at Lighthouse Point Park.

It's the only city park that allows alcohol thanks to an exemption in a city ordinance.

Last month, city aldermen delayed a vote on the issue for fear a ban on alcohol would unfairly target minorities and less affluent residents.

If the city votes to ban alcohol, there would be exceptions for certain events as long as police are present.

A legislative committee will hear comments on the issue Monday at 7 p.m. at city hall.
