A suspect was busted using New Haven's new ShotSpotter system.
New Haven’s new shot-spotter technology is doing its job, and has spotted a West Haven woman with a pistol and drugs, cops said.
Jennifer Burridge was arrested on Saturday after the shot-spotter reported gunshots in the Munson Street area.
When cops arrived at the scene, they found her holding a 40-caliber pistol, she had also been using drugs, and had a lot of "Illy" on her, cops said.
The ShotSpotter technology is a network of 22 sensors that instantly notify cops of gunshots in the city and pinpoint the location to within 10 yards.
In September, cops installed the system in the area of the city where most shootings have occurred and Burridge is the first person who's been arrested as a result of it, the New Haven Independent reports.
The city paid for the system with a $374,000 federal grant.
