New Haven Police Chief Frank Limon faces possible "no confidence" vote
Just six months on the job, New Haven Police Chief Frank Limon may be facing a "no confidence" vote from his officers.
The police department's union president, Louis Cavaliere, tells The New Haven Register that he can almost guarantee it's going to happen.
The Register reports that Cavaliere will meet with the chief on Friday and try to iron out the problems officers have with Limon's leadership and management style.
Then on Sept. 15, the union could make the motion to hold a "no confidence" vote. If it passes, the executive board will organize a department-wide vote.
Limon responded in a statement to the Register:
"I understand that change is stressful. I am mindful that officers may have concerns and questions about the strategies that are being implemented and there will be opportunities to address these issues in the near future," Limon said to the paper. "I look forward to working with the members of the department to bring about change that will make New Haven safer and at the same time to work together to create a police department that will be a professional and progressive working environment."
