4 Shot in New Haven in 24 Hours

New Haven police are investigating a triple shooting near 1378 Quinnipiac Avenue by Eastern Street on Monday night.

It was the second shooting in less than 24 hours.

Police received 911 calls around 10:01 p.m. and  found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.

All three victims were transported by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Jaquet Jacobs, 23, was shot in his his right hand and has been released.

Vincent Clark, 20, was shot in the abdomen and Ian Alston, 21, was shot in the thigh and wrist. Both were in critical condition, but Alston's condition was upgraded to stable condition.

Clark's condition was upgraded from critical to critical/stable.

Police have not identified a suspect or a motive, but said that the outdoor shootings spanned a city block.

The department's Major Crime Division and Bureau of Investigation are investigating the shootings and interviewing witnesses. Police are not releasing further details at this time.

Earlier in the night, a 19-year-old man was shot in the lower back near Dixwell Avenue. He survived the shooting and has been released, police said.
