New Haven Public School Teacher Investigated for Alleged Misconduct with Student

A New Haven Public School teacher is under investigation for alleged inappropriate conduct with an Engineering and Science University Magnet School student, the mayor's office told NBC Connecticut. 

The New Haven mayor's office tells NBC Connecticut that the investigation is for "unprofessional" conduct with a student at ESUMS. 

The teacher was "immediately" removed from the classroom yesterday, New Haven Public Schools said in a statement.

The New Haven Police and the State Department of Children and Families are conducting an investigation, the statement said. 

ESUMS is a New Haven school located in Hamden.
