New Sexual Violence Complaint Issued Against UConn

The U.S. Department of Education has launched another investigation into the University of Connecticut after receiving a sexual violence complaint.

Little information is available other than that a Title IX sexual violence investigation into UConn was initiated on Tuesday and the U.S. Department of Education is not disclosing any specifics of the complaint.

A statement from UConn said they’ve been made aware that the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights received a new complaint, but the university has not receive written notification of it and does not know the contents of the complaint.

This complaint comes after UConn settled a federal law suit in 2014 filed by five women who claimed the school responded to their sexual assault complaints with indifference.

The current investigation is one of 102 sexual violence cases under investigation at 97 colleges and universities across the county. It is the only pending investigation listed in Connecticut.
