New York City Murder Suspect Arrested at Foxwoods

Mashantucket Pequot tribal police arrested a man at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard on Friday who is wanted in New York City on murder charges.

Tribal police found Aruturo Lopez-Valle in the bus lobby at the casino and charged him as a suspected fugitive of justice, tribal police said. That was after they received a tip from New York detectives based in the south end of Manhattan that Lopez-Valle was possibly at Foxwoods.

NBC New York reported on Wednesday that police were looking for a stabbing suspect wanted in the murder of a 36-year-old at a deli in Times Square, citing police. The victim, who was located Tuesday night at West 40th  street and Seventh Avenue in New York City, had two stab wounds in his chest, police told NBC New York.

Tribal police held Lopez-Valle at its headquarters on a $100,000 bond. He is due in court on Monday, Jan. 26.

Connecticut state police and security personnel at Foxwoods assisted tribal police in the investigation.

He is held at Mashantucket Tribal Police Headquarters on $100,000 bond and will be arraigned Monday. It is not immediately known if he has an attorney.
