North Branford police arrested several teens when they busted a party and found seven 16-years olds drunk, one to the point of alcohol poisoning, according to police.

Police went to Indian Hill Road in the Northford section of town just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday to investigate a large number of youth congregating in the area.

The homeowners were out of state and the home should not have been occupied, according to police. Police said one of the teens is the granddaughter of the homeowners.

When police arrived, several teens ran into the house and into the woods nearby.

The 16-year-old girl who met police at the door appeared to be intoxicated, police said.

Seven 16-year-olds in total were highly intoxicated, according to police, including a boy who was found unconscious, police said.

An ambulance took him to a local hospital to be treated for alcohol poisoning.

Police said five teens were in the house and two were hiding in the woods. All were charged with possession of alcohol by minor.
