Fridays fast-moving storms took down trees and power lines in many Northwest Connecticut towns.

Residents spent Saturday surveying the damage and cleaning up debris.

Several driveways on Old Colony Road in Canton were blocked by downed trees, forcing homeowners to park on the street.

Damage on Lyons Road in Burlington kept tree removal crews busy.

In Harwinton, the damage was so severe that it is being investigated whether the storms spawned a small tornado.

At the storm's peak, 17,000 customers were without power.

CL&P is reporting over 2,000 outages statewide Saturday afternoon, concentrated in Harwinton, Canton, Burlington and Avon.
