Animal control officials have literally been on a wild goose chase over the past few weeks, looking for a bird that has an arrow through its head.
The goose has been spotted at several locations around Old Lyme, eating worms, flying, swimming and acting like nothing is wrong, town officials said.
Animal control officers are worried that the arrow wounds might become infected or the goose will get stuck somewhere if the arrow gets snagged on something.
It's not clear who shot the bird with the arrow or if they meant to do it.
