One person is dead after a house fire in Norwich Wednesday.
Emergency crews responded to a multi-family home at 31 Bentley Ave. around 3 p.m. When firefighters entered the building, they found a victim dead on the first floor. That person has not been publicly identified.
No other injuries were reported.
Eight people who live in the home were displaced and are being helped by the Red Cross.
Firefighters from Norwich, Taftville, Yantic, East Great Plains, Laurel Hill, and Mohegan Tribe responded.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
