One Dead, One Badly Injured in Waterbury Crash

One person is dead and another was badly injured in a head-on crash in Waterbury, according to police. 

The crash happened at 187 Scott Road around 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said a 1993 Ford Escort station wagon was traveling north on Scott Road when it crossed over the center line and struck a 2006 Audi A6 head-on.

A male passenger in the Escort was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Moises Aguilera, 50, of Waterbury, was also in the Escort and was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

The driver of the Audi, Chastity Goris, 24. of Waterbury, and her 4-year-old passenger were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
