Yes, You Can Buy Beer on July 4

You'll be able to buy booze before you watch your fireworks on July 4th.
You’ll be able to buy alcohol with your sparklers on the Fourth of July this year.
Back in 1980s, a lawmaker must have forgotten to pick up the beer until just before the cookout, because the state in 1982 changed the law that had prohibited alcohol sales on some major holidays.
So, Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell Jr. said, supermarkets that sell beer and packies, as we call liquor stores in New England, can remain open.
Liquor stores are not required to be open, but can open for celebration sales.
“The statute allows the stores to open, but the decision is up to each individual store owner whether he or she wishes to open on our national holiday,” Farrell said.
Apparently, the CPC has been getting calls about what is and is not open, so Farrell set the record straight.
