Pedestrian Killed by Truck on Route 25 in Newtown

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed near the Sand Hill Plaza in Newton on Wednesday evening.

A white box truck hit Christopher Mulligan, 18, of Newton, at the intersection of South Main Street and Button Shop Road just after 5 p.m.

Route 25 was closed for several hours. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
