Pediatrician Admitted to Collecting Child Porn: Cops

The Stonington pediatrician charged with possession of child porn told police he'd been collecting images for years.

Dr. Todd Parrilla, 47, of Stonington, was arrested on Tuesday morning after members of the Connecticut Computer Crimes Task Force executed a search and seizure warrant at his Pellegrino Road home.

Investigators seized several computer-related components, including three detachable hard drives and more than 100 printed images of what appear to be child pornography from a closet in Parrilla's bedroom, according to federal authorities.

Police began an investigation into Parrilla in July. A law enforcement officer working undercover in Kansas City, Missouri, logged into an Internet file-sharing program and downloaded 104 images of child porn from a shared directory maintained by Parrilla, authorities said.

He told authorities he had been using the file-sharing program for about five years, according to court documents.  Parrilla also admitted the images in the bedroom closet belonged to him.

Parrilla is one of two doctors listed on the Westone Pediatrics web site. The practice is listed at 20 South Anguilla Road in the Pawcatuck section of Stonington.

Parrilla appeared before a federal judge in Hartford on Tuesday afternoon. The judge ordered Parrilla be held without bond until a detention hearing scheduled for Friday.
