Police ID Victim of Hartford's 5th Homicide of 2015

Hartford homicide detectives are investigating after a 31-year-old Hartford man was shot and killed at the intersection of Blue Hills Avenue and Burnham Street on Thursday night, according to police.

Police have identified the victim as Teniel Mack. He was shot in the forehead shortly before 10 p.m. and police said he was the victim of a stabbing earlier this week.

This morning, Hartford homicide detectives have responded to Quality Inn in Cromwell for the ongoing investigation.

Overnight, police obtained a search warrant for one of the rooms at the hotel and police said there is no danger to guests, staff or the public.

Mack's death marks the city's fifth homicide of 2015 and the second in a week.

This morning, police took one person into custody on an outstanding warrant and he is expected to be arrested in connection with the previous incident, but police have not revealed any additional information on what that incident was.

Police also towed two vehicles from the hotel, including a black Ford and a green Honda Accord after taking photos of them.

Anyone with information is urged to call Hartford police.
