A man has been transported to Hartford Hospital to be treated for lower-bodies injuries after what police said was a suicide attempt in Meriden late Monday morning.
The man was lying down on train tracks in the area of Cooper Street in Meriden when he was struck by a freight train, according to authorities.
LifeStar medical transport helicopter brought the man to Hartford Hospital.
No passengers were on the train when the man was hit.
