Report of Man Who Fell Asleep While Making Milkshake Leads to Arrests

Plainfield police arrested two people on drug charges after receiving calls about a man falling asleep while making a milkshake at a local Cumberland Farms.

Randy Valade, 37, of Moosup, faces charges of possession of narcotics and interfering with a police officer. Gina Mineau, 47, of Moosup, face charges of possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said they arrested the pair after receiving a complaint of a man falling asleep while trying to make a milkshake at Cumberland Farms Tuesday.

Police said they responded to the store at 12 South Main St.  around 8:58 p.m. When they arrived, they found Mineau slumped over outside and Valade sleeping in the store with a milkshake in his hand.

Police said they found heroin on both suspects. Mineau also had suboxone, but she did not have a prescription. Both were arrested.

When police were bringing Valade to the cruiser, he allegedly resisted officers and had to be restrained.

Both were released on a promise to appear and are scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 27.
